What is included at the starting price. A shirt cut to your own measurements, your choice of collar and cuff style, placket, pocket and buttons, and a first shirt you can wear and assess before we cut the rest of an order.
What moves the price up. Finer two-ply cotton, linen and premium mill cloth cost more per metre, and so do details like a contrast collar, contrast lining, working plackets or monogramming. We price each of these separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Ordering more than one. Multi-shirt orders are discounted. Most clients who travel here for a suit add three or four shirts to the same commission, since the pattern is already cut and the marginal cost falls.
You get a firm quote before anything is cut, with nothing added at collection.

Semi-spread is the safe default and works with or without a tie. Cutaway suits a fuller tie knot and a narrower face. Classic point is the traditional business collar. Button-down is the casual option and the one to choose if the shirt will be worn open. Club collars soften a formal shirt, and wing collars are for black tie only.
Collar height matters more than most people expect. Taller collars suit longer necks and sit better under a jacket, and you can choose how stiff the interlining should be.
Cuff Styles

Single barrel cuffs cover everyday wear, with square, rounded or mitred corners. A second button tightens the cuff and adds a little formality. Double cuffs take links and belong with a suit or black tie.
We set cuff circumference so the cuff sits on the wrist bone rather than sliding over your hand, which is the detail that stops a shirt looking borrowed. If your arms are slightly different lengths, we cut the sleeves to match.

Relaxed fit. Fuller through the chest and waist, with a straighter side seam. Worth considering for linen shirts worn open in hot weather, or if you want the shirt to sit away from the body.
Details that matter more than the label. Armhole height affects how much the shirt pulls when you lift your arm, and a higher armhole with a slightly fuller sleeve moves better than a low one. Shirt length decides whether it stays tucked when you sit. Yoke width and shoulder seam placement decide whether the shirt looks like it belongs to you or to a size chart. We set all of these individually rather than scaling one number up and down.

Shirt Fabrics for the Bangkok Climate
Fabric choice matters more for tailored shirts in Bangkok than almost anywhere, because the shirt is often the only layer you are wearing outdoors.
Poplin. Smooth, light and slightly crisp. The standard business shirt fabric and the coolest of the plain weaves. Best in white and light blue.
Twill. A diagonal weave with a soft hand and a light sheen. It drapes well and resists creasing better than poplin, which makes it a strong travel shirt.
Oxford and royal oxford. Heavier basketweave with visible texture. Oxford is casual and hard-wearing; royal oxford is smoother and formal enough to wear with a suit.
Linen and linen blends. The most breathable option for the hot season. Linen will crease, which is part of the look, and a cotton-linen blend creases less if that bothers you.
Chambray and denim. Casual, durable and excellent worn open-collar under a jacket.
Ask our team about two-ply yarns. A two-ply fabric uses twisted yarn in both directions, which makes it stronger, smoother and longer-lasting than single-ply at the same thread count.
Caring for Tailored Shirts in Bangkok
Heat and humidity are harder on a shirt than wear is. A few habits will add years to a tailored shirt in this climate.
Wash cool and often. Sweat and sunscreen break down cotton faster than washing does. A 30 degree cycle after each wear is better for the cloth than letting a shirt sit in a laundry basket in a humid room.
Skip the dryer. Hang shirts in shade with the collar buttoned and the shoulders on a wide hanger. Tumble drying shrinks cotton unevenly and is the most common reason a shirt that fit perfectly stops fitting.
Watch for mould, not stains. In the rainy season, a cupboard with no airflow will mark cotton within weeks. Leave space between shirts, keep a dehumidifier or moisture absorber in the wardrobe, and never store a shirt that is not completely dry.
Rotate your collar stays. Remove them before washing. Left in, they warp the collar points and cut through the fabric at the tips.
Iron the collar and cuffs last. Press the body first while the iron is hottest, then finish the collar and cuffs so they are not flattened by later passes.
