Measurements

At Galaxy Tailor, precision is at the heart of every garment we create. To craft clothing that fits you flawlessly, we rely on detailed, accurate measurements. Whether you’re ordering a suit, shirt, or trousers, taking your measurements correctly is the first step to achieving the ideal fit and comfort tailored uniquely to your body.

Below, you’ll find a step-by-step guide for each measurement we require, complete with visual references and clear instructions. Please follow each step carefully, and don’t hesitate to ask a friend for help or contact us if you have any questions. The better the measurements, the better the fit — and the better you’ll look and feel in your custom attire.

Upper Measurements

Neck

Place the measuring tape around your neck. Please put one finger between your neck and the tape.

Length

Place the measuring tape at the top of your shoulder at the point where your shoulder meets your neck. Measure from this point down over your chest to where you would like the jacket to end.

Chest

Place the measuring tape around your chest at its widest point. This should be directly below your armpits.

Stomach

Place the measuring tape around the biggest part of the stomach.

Hips

Place the measuring tape around the biggest part of the hips.

Shoulder

Put the measuring tape at the point on your shoulder where it starts to slope downwards. Measure horizontally across until the same point on the other shoulder.

Sleeves

Put the measuring tape at the point on your shoulder where it starts to slope downwards (same point as for shoulder width). Measure along the arm to where you want the sleeve to end.

Biceps

Put the measuring tape around the widest point of your biceps.

Lower Measurements

Waist

Measure around your waist where you want the pant to sit (normally on the hipbone). Pull the tape tight, then loosen until comfortable. Do not measure over the belt.

Thigh

Measure around the widest point of your thigh.

Knee

Wrap the tape measure around your knee. Keep your leg straight during this measurement.

Calf

Measure around the calf at the widest point. This is usually about 3/4 up the lower leg.

Bottom

13–14 inches is a slim fit pant for a slim guy. 15–16 inches for a bigger guy.

Crotch Front

Measure from the front top of your pant’s waistband to the back top of your waistband. Pull or loosen the tape until comfortable.

Crotch Back

Measure from the front top of your pant’s waistband to the back top of your waistband. Pull or loosen the tape until comfortable.

Length

Measure from the top of the waistband down to below your ankle.
